{"id":1431,"date":"2026-09-01T14:41:12","date_gmt":"2026-09-01T18:41:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/jged\/?p=1431"},"modified":"2026-09-01T14:41:12","modified_gmt":"2026-09-01T18:41:12","slug":"new-pandora-papers-published","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/jged\/2026\/09\/01\/new-pandora-papers-published\/","title":{"rendered":"New Pandora Papers Published!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our group recently published two new papers on Pandora data collected in the Boston area:<\/p>\n<p><span>(1) &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/pubs.rsc.org\/ea\/article\/doi\/10.1039\/D6EA00033A\/1290978\/Sampling-sub-pixel-scale-variability-in-total\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sampling sub-pixel scale variability in total column NO2 within a coastal urban environment: Observations from Pandora and implications for satellite remote sensing<\/a>&#8221; published in <em>Environmental Science: Atmospheres<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Taylor Adams shows how well Pandoras can capture neighborhood-scale variability in nitrogen dioxide, and shifts in emissions over time, that remain unresolved by current satellite observations even after oversampling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>(2) &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/pubs.rsc.org\/ea\/article\/doi\/10.1039\/d6ea00097e\/1295669\/Observing-complexity-in-the-evolution-of\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Observing complexity in the evolution of formaldehyde in a coastal urban environment with Pandora spectrometer<\/a>&#8221; published in\u00a0<em>Environmental Science: Atmospheres<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Claire Naughton <span>shows that elevated formaldehyde in Boston is often driven by the entrainment of long-range transport inputs during boundary layer development, a process that is not temporally resolved by traditional EPA HCHO sampling.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our group recently published two new papers on Pandora data collected in the Boston area: (1) &#8220;Sampling sub-pixel scale variability in total column NO2 within a coastal urban environment: Observations from Pandora and implications for satellite remote sensing&#8221; published in Environmental Science: Atmospheres.
