{"id":1156,"date":"2023-06-06T14:11:28","date_gmt":"2023-06-06T18:11:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/jged\/?p=1156"},"modified":"2023-06-06T14:11:28","modified_gmt":"2023-06-06T18:11:28","slug":"new-publications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/jged\/2023\/06\/06\/new-publications\/","title":{"rendered":"New Publications!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fresh off the press, our group just published a pair of papers in\u00a0<em>JGR-Atmospheres<\/em> on coastal urban air quality. <span>We examine a variety of challenges and opportunities in high resolution modeling and remote sensing observations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In <span>postdoc <a href=\"https:\/\/agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1029\/2022JD037860\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bo Wang&#8217;s modeling paper<\/a>, we show how sea breeze frontal dynamics and urban NOx titration effects drive strong heterogeneity in high O3 pollution that is not captured by the current monitoring network:\u00a0<\/span><span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">In grad student <a href=\"https:\/\/agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1029\/2022JD038237\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Taylor Adams&#8217; paper<\/a>, we combine Pandora-<\/span><span class=\"r-18u37iz\"><\/span><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">derived NO2 column measurements with surface concentrations to constrain the role of boundary layer dynamics and to highlight the value of remote sensing in characterizing sea breeze dynamics:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>These recent contributions provide new process-level insight following <a href=\"https:\/\/agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1029\/2021JD035314\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">an earlier climatological analysis we performed<\/a> with routine monitoring observations that broadly examined the role of sea breezes on air quality in the Boston area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fresh off the press, our group just published a pair of papers in\u00a0JGR-Atmospheres on coastal urban air quality.
