The Boston Public Library has been digitizing its own collections since 2005 when a small team assembled a digital imaging studio from bits and pieces of various budget leftovers and no strategy for long-term sustainability. This presentation will focus on the evolution of the BPL digitization program, the nature of certain digital objects, and the implications of the strategic partnerships that have been built over the past several years.
