Sketch of the BPL – Hongyang Zhao

The Boston Public Library is composed of two main buildings: the Renaissance revivalist McKim Building and the modernist Johnson Building. The McKim Building was planned and constructed by Charles Follen McKim in 1887. The establishment of the library was inspired by M.Nicolas Marie Alexandre Vattemare.
