Kayra Cengiz
Lead Admin / MD Candidate
Originally from Southern Turkey, Kayra is currently enrolled as a medical student at BU Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture at Cornell University in 2020, Kayra gained professional experience in the architectural field before deciding the medical field was a much better fit for her. She aims to integrate her background in design to make meaningful contributions to healthcare delivery and patient outcomes
In addition to her medical studies, Kayra serves as the lead administrator for the HEART Webpage, where she oversees the content of the platform. Furthermore, she is an active participant in the LEADS Research Track at BU Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Within this role, Kayra is engaged in research that focuses on the utilization of visual aids in clinical settings to improve patient understanding, particularly in environments where linguistic barriers exist. Kayra is also involved research within the Department of Hematology & Medical Oncology at BMC investigating adverse effects related to Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors (ICI).
