As the technology continues to evolve, faculty need ongoing opportunities to learn from one another and adapt their teaching.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Faculty adaptation to generative AI is not just about learning the technology. It also happens through conversation, observation, experimentation, and the gradual development of norms. The <strong>AI Teaching &amp; Learning Collaborative<\/strong> is designed as a context-specific and ongoing faculty peer-learning initiative, creating a sustained space for faculty to explore, experiment, share what works and what doesn\u2019t, and learn together as the technology continues to evolve.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>We welcome SPH faculty from all disciplines, teaching styles, and levels of AI experience. The emphasis is on peer learning, thoughtful experimentation, and learning from both successes and challenges.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>AI Teaching Commons<\/strong><br \/>\nA growing collection of practical resources, examples, and approaches contributed by SPH faculty. The Teaching Commons extends learning beyond the meetings and allows faculty experiences and ideas to benefit the broader SPH community.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Together, the Faculty Learning Community and AI Teaching Commons create a shared learning system in which faculty experiences inform the broader community, while new ideas and resources support continued experimentation and learning.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>What We Hope to Accomplish<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Through the Collaborative, we aim to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Build faculty capacity to continually adapt teaching as AI evolves.<\/li>\n<li>Create opportunities for faculty to learn from one another across disciplines and educational contexts.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage thoughtful experimentation and sharing of both successes and challenges.<\/li>\n<li>Develop practical resources and examples grounded in faculty experience.<\/li>\n<li>Foster shared norms and effective educational practices for an AI-enabled world.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a name=\"Topics\"><\/a>Example Learning Topics<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>The Collaborative will explore foundational questions facing faculty while remaining responsive to new issues and participant interests as AI evolves. Topics may include:<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Teaching with AI: What Works and What Doesn\u2019t?<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\">Sharing approaches, experiments, and lessons from the classroom.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Assessment in the Age of AI<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\">Designing assessments that support learning and help faculty understand what students know and can do.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Academic Integrity and AI<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\">Navigating expectations, policies, and responsible AI use.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Preparing Students for an AI-Enabled Workforce<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\">Considering the AI competencies graduates need and how they fit within the curriculum.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Additional topics will emerge from participants\u2019 questions, experiences, and evolving developments in AI throughout the year.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"Commons\"><\/a>AI Teaching Commons<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>T<\/span>he <strong>AI Teaching Commons<\/strong> will launch in September as a growing resource for SPH faculty, extending the learning of the Collaborative beyond individual meetings by capturing and sharing what faculty are learning and trying in their teaching.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Commons will include practical resources contributed by faculty, such as syllabus language, assignments, classroom activities, prompts, and assessment approaches, along with selected lessons and insights emerging from Collaborative discussions. Over time, it will create a shared resource so that faculty across SPH can benefit from the experiences and learning of their colleagues.<span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"Meetings\"><\/a>2026\u20132027 Learning Community Meetings<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>The Learning Community meets throughout the academic year on <strong>Thursdays from 1:00\u20132:00 PM<\/strong>.
