BUSSW Associate Professor Christina Lee will present at the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIH/NIAAA) webinar, “Reducing Stigma Around Alcohol Use Disorder in Minority Communities,” joined by Dr. Tamika Zapolski, associate professor of psychology at Indiana University. The researchers will discuss their clinical treatment research targeting alcohol and drug use in the Latino/a and the African-American communities, respectively.
Humberto Camerena, LCSW, senior consultant at La Piana Consulting, and Dr. Victor Figuereo, assistant professor of social work at the University of Pittsburgh, both key experts on Dr. Lee’s Project CAMI team, will share their perspectives on the significance of this type of work in community settings with a focus on how the culturally adapted motivational interview model developed by Dr. Lee impacted Latino/a men and women with alcohol use disorder.
