The BU-BMC Summer Science Scholars Program<\/b><\/h4>\n

Each summer, the Hagedorn Lab (with help from other research groups in the HemOnc Section) runs a research program for local high school students, with a particular focus on working with students from our immediate surrounding communities who have had limited exposure to biomedical research.<\/span><\/p>\n

Program Summary<\/b><\/p>\n

Our one-week summer enrichment program offers local high school students an opportunity <\/span>to immerse themselves within the field of biomedical research. Participating students learn <\/span>directly (in person) from research scientists at Boston University School of Medicine, including <\/span>faculty, graduate students and senior research staff. Students participate in hands-on activities and are exposed to a wide-range of research subjects as they begin to think about college and\/or expl<\/span>ore their future career paths. <\/span><\/p>\n

The ultimate goal of this program is to show the students that anyone can be a scientist. In doing so we hope to inspire future generations of scientists!<\/span><\/p>\n
