The burden of gun-related death and injury reveals a health crisis that has not yet gained widespread recognition: guns are a risk factor and danger to human health and well-being around the world.<br \/>\n<\/h1>\n<h2 style=\"font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; color: #000000; font-size: 18px; line-height: 29px;\"><span>In response to the need for effective solutions and <strong>an evidence-led, global, and renewed understanding of the relationship between guns and health<\/strong>, The<\/span><i><span>\u00a0Lancet Commission on Global Gun Violence and Health<\/span><\/i><span>\u00a0was launched in September 2024.\u00a0 In their\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelancet.com\/journals\/lancet\/article\/PIIS0140-6736(24)01697-0\/abstract\"><span>Comment<\/span><\/a><span>\u00a0published in the world-leading medical journal\u00a0<\/span><i><span>The Lancet<\/span><\/i><span>, the Commission\u2019s leaders announced the aim of combining the best of research and practice to translate research findings, ensure participation of civil society, and catalyze evidence-informed action at local, national, regional, and international levels.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<\/h2>\n<h3 style=\"font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; color: #000000; font-size: 18px; line-height: 29px;\">Chaired by Dr. Adnan Hyder, Dean and Robert A.
