We are part of the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sargent\/academics\/departments\/programs-in-speech-language-hearing-sciences\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Speech, Language &amp; Hearing Sciences Department<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0the BU\u00a0College of Health &amp; Rehabilitation Sciences: <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sargent\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sargent College<\/a>\u00a0as well as the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/eng\/departments\/bme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department of Biomedical Engineering<\/a> in the BU <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/eng\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">College of Engineering<\/a>\u00a0and the BU <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Center for Systems Neuroscience<\/a>.We are also affiliated with\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Engineering<\/a> at Massachusetts General Hospital, the <a href=\"https:\/\/picower.mit.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Picower Institute for Learning and Memory<\/a> at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the Harvard\/MIT <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hms.harvard.edu\/dms\/shbt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Program in Speech and Hearing Bioscience and Technology<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The primary goal of the lab is the development, testing, and refinement of a computational modeling framework addressing the neural processes underlying normal and disordered speech. We apply this theoretical framework to study communication disorders and design neural prosthetics in collaborative projects with other labs.
