{"id":39,"date":"2025-12-09T15:27:32","date_gmt":"2025-12-09T20:27:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/gisday\/?page_id=39"},"modified":"2026-03-25T14:46:30","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T18:46:30","slug":"student-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/gisday\/program\/student-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Call for Student Posters for the BU Geospatial Tech &amp; Data Symposium<\/h2>\n<h3>Who should submit a poster?<\/h3>\n<p>We welcome posters from any Boston University student (undergraduate, graduate, across all schools and colleges) who is using geospatial data and technologies (ArcGIS, QGIS, R GIS packages, Python, PowerBI Maps, etc) in their research to submit a poster for presentation.<\/p>\n<h3>Poster Contest<\/h3>\n<p>Each participant will receive a BU swag bag and the winner of the poster contest will be awarded a $200 prize!<\/p>\n<h3>Poster Presentation<\/h3>\n<p>Students selected to present their research posters at the Symposium will be notified by <b>Monday, April 13, 2026<\/b>. Posters will be printed by the conference organizers and transported to the venue free of charge.<\/p>\n<p>The Student Poster session will be held during the BU Geospatial Tech &amp; Data Symposium, on <b>Wednesday, April 22, 2026<\/b>, from 12pm to 4pm ET at <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.bu.edu\/?id=647#!m\/651922?share\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">43 Hawes Street, Brookline<\/a>. If your poster is selected for presentation at the symposium, you must be able to attend the poster session in person.<\/p>\n<h3>Submission process<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Submission deadline is <b>Monday, April 6 at 3pm.<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Posters presented at other conferences are encouraged!<\/li>\n<li>Posters must be 48 inches wide by 36 inches tall (horizontal or vertical).
