BU Women Gender and Sexuality Studies Program<\/a>: The Boston University Women\u2019s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGS) Program fosters interdisciplinary research and teaching related to the intersections of gender, sexuality, race, citizenship status, disability, and other dimensions of social life that sustain and exacerbate systems of inequality. We seek to understand the consequences of structures of gender and sexuality inequality across a diverse array of temporal, cultural, and geographic contexts.<\/p>\n

Northern Ireland\u00a0<\/span>Alternatives\u00a0<\/span><\/em>(NIA)<\/a>: Northern Ireland Alternatives (NIA) was set up to provide communities access to restorative justice processes, providing community-based collaborative solutions to the hurt and harm caused by low-level crime and anti-social behavior. <\/span>Restorative Justice offers a non-violent, human response to the hurt and harm anti-social behavior inflicts upon its victims and the community as a whole. It seeks to heal wounds, repair broken relationships, and work towards a better future for everyone.<\/span><\/p>\n

Northern Ireland Bureau (NI Bureau)<\/a>: The Northern Ireland Bureau is the diplomatic mission of the Northern Ireland Executive in the United States and Canada. We work to cultivate and strengthen links between various political, economic, educational, and cultural interests in Northern Ireland and North America. We also serve as a resource for individuals and organisations looking to learn and understand more about Northern Ireland, and its relationship with the United States and Canada.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

International Fund for Ireland<\/a>: The International Fund for Ireland was established as an independent organisation by the British and Irish Governments in 1986 with financial contributions from the United States of America, the European Union, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The total resources committed to the Fund to date amount to \u00a3728m \/ \u20ac914m, supporting over 6,000 projects across the island of Ireland. The Fund aims to promote economic and social advance as well as encourage contact and dialogue between nationalists and unionists throughout Ireland.<\/div>\n

BU Department of Political Science<\/a>: Political scientists explore the concerns and issues that animate public life. Using both humanistic and scientific approaches, we study how political communities attempt to reconcile the claims of justice, power, liberty, and authority. Drawing on history, law, economics, psychology, sociology, and philosophy, political science is a broadly based social science that shares the traditional aims of liberal arts education while attempting to come to grips with the major public issues of our time. Upon graduation, political science majors pursue careers in both the public and private sectors, in local, state, and federal government, and in business, education, journalism, international organizations, and practical politics. They also pursue postgraduate study in law and public administration, as well as graduate study in political science, among other disciplines.<\/p>\n
