Pete Wray

Manager of Northern Ireland Alternatives

Pete Wray has 18 years of experience working in the field of community youth work. Initially, Pete worked for YouthAction Northern Ireland, where he specialised in gender-conscious practices and work with young men around violence and conflict resolution. In 2012 Pete achieved his first-degree honours in Community Youth Work, and in the same year, he joined Northern Ireland Alternatives.

Pete has been the Manager of Northern Ireland Alternatives across Ards and North Down since 2014. Pete manages all projects across the borough including the STARS Programme (restorative practice training), the MACS Programmes (community mediation delivery), the SAFE Programme (conflict resolution and community safety initiative), and the DARE Programme (building resilience and leadership in young people).

Pete is passionate about empowering communities to make positive change and creating a culture of lawfulness in a post-conflict society. Pete is also a locally elected Councillor within the borough of Ards and North Down.
