Lisa Morris
Northern Ireland Alternatives staff member
Based in Greenisland on the outskirts of Belfast, Lisa has been an advocate, volunteer, and
community activist for 10+ years, with her career spanning from fundraising initiatives, to organising community events, to now being a Northern Ireland Alternatives staff member on the STARS project (Striving Towards A Restorative Society).
On STARS, Lisa equips and mentors community stakeholders to contribute to creating a restorative society; organising training for groups and residents, weekly forums and dialogue spaces, as well as providing community support to those in need. Lisa is passionate about amplifying marginalized voices in the community and increasing accessibility to systems such as housing, healthcare, and education for those who need it. Lisa works closely with the local housing authority, policing team, political representatives, and community to create an infrastructure to identify issues, problem-solve, and promote community cohesion. Alongside this, Lisa mediates community disputes and is a constant advocate for non-violent responses to harm within the area.
