Carolyn Mada

Head of Communities in Transition Northern Ireland Civil Service

Carolyn has worked in the Northern Ireland Civil Service for over 30 years and has had a varied and interesting career history in both the Northern Ireland Office and the Executive Office. Throughout her career she has worked as CEO for the Northern Ireland Memorial Fund (an ALB of Government
providing practical support for victims of the NI conflict), the Ex-Prisoner Working group (focusing on the reintegration of political ex-prisoners post Good Friday/Belfast Agreement), and the Flags, Identity, Culture and Tradition Commission (focusing on issues which continue to impact on the lives
of those in NI and create divisions in our society).

Carolyn is currently Head of Communities in Transition which is part of the Executive Action Plan to address paramilitarism, criminality and coercive control and covers eight distinct areas across NI which have been impacted most by paramilitarism.
