Head of Housing – Connswater Homes

Bridgeen is Head of Housing at Connswater, with a BA undergrad in Housing
Management from the University of Ulster and over 15 years’ experience working
in the social housing sector within Northern Ireland. Connswater is a community-
based social housing provider, with over 1200 properties throughout Northern
Ireland.
Throughout her career she has shown a keen interest in neighbourhood renewal and
community development. Bridgeen completed the Striving Towards A Restorative
Society’ (STARS) programme in 2021. Connswater is the first housing Association
in Northern Ireland to have all staff trained in the principles of restorative practice,
and the Association continues to embed these principles through all areas of
operations.
Social housing properties are generally in areas of higher levels of deprivation
and social needs. Homes are allocated to households that require secure
affordable housing. Sustaining tenancies is a key objective, which contributes to
creating thriving communities.
The Association works with stakeholders to navigate the complexities of
communities within Northern Ireland and works towards the Department of
Communities and Northern Ireland Housing Executives ‘Housing for All’ Shared
Housing Programme. The programme originates from the Northern Ireland
Executive’s Together: Building a United Community Strategy, reflecting the
Executive’s commitment to improving community relations and continuing the
journey towards a more united and shared society.
