He is affiliated with the Department of Geography at the University of Leicester, where he undertook his postdoctoral research project in partnership with Harvard\u2019s Department of Anthropology, and worked on the cultural impacts of gentrification on gnawa rituals and subculture in Casablanca, Morocco. He was one of the organizers of <a href=\"https:\/\/repensarbonpastor.wordpress.com\/\">Repensar Bonpastor,<\/a> a collaborative experiment to prevent displacement in a Barcelona neighborhood, and of Harvard&#8217;s 2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/news.harvard.edu\/gazette\/story\/newsplus\/housing-activists-scholars-gather-at-harvard-to-discuss-urban-displacement\/\">Urban Activism Conference<\/a>. He co-founded the working groups <a href=\"https:\/\/periferiesurbanes.org\/en\/\">Perife\u0300ries Urbanes<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/observatoriconflicteurba.org\/\">Observatori d\u2019Antropologia del Conflicte urba\u0300<\/a> in Barcelona, and wrote <em>La ciudad horizontal<\/em> (Bellaterra, 2015), an ethnography on the demolition of a Barcelona working class neighborhood.
