Her research focuses on the intersection of class analysis and urban studies. Her <em>Good Neighbors: Gentrifying Diversity in Boston\u2019s South End<\/em> (Verso, 2015) reveals the way that upper-middle-class newcomers have positioned themselves as champions of diversity, and how their mobilization around this key concept has reordered class divisions rather than abolished them. Tissot has conducted another field-based research project on so-called \u2018gay-friendly\u2019 heterosexuals in France and the United States (<em>Gayfriendly<\/em>, Polity, 2023).
