GENI (Global Environment for Network Innovations) provides a virtual laboratory for networking and distributed systems research and education. It is well suited for exploring networks at scale, thereby promoting innovations in network science, security, services and applications. For more information visit the GENI website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Sixth GENI Research and Educational Experiment (GREE) Camp will be held at Boston University (BU) from May 24-27, 2016.\u00a0 It follows five successful camps held at the University of Connecticut (Summer 2015),\u00a0 Iowa State University (Summer 2014), BBN Technologies (Winter 2014), University of Connecticut (Summer 2013), and Rochester Institute Technology (Summer 2012).\u00a0 It will provide participants opportunities to learn and use the various GENI resources and tools through tutorials, labs and a team-based project. The camp lasts for four days, culminating with final team presentations by the camp participants on the last day. You can take a look at final presentations from previous camps:\u00a0 GREE-SC2015<\/a>,\u00a0GREE-SC2013<\/a>, and GREE-SC2012<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A limited number of travel grants are available for camp attendees.\u00a0 See details below.\u00a0 Undergraduate and graduate students, and faculty at different-level colleges are welcome to apply. Industrial attendees are welcome too. The focus of this camp is on systematic experiments.\u00a0 Hands-on tutorials using several GENI tools will cover systematic experiments and will also introduce other capabilities of GENI.<\/p>\n

Application<\/strong><\/p>\n

To apply, please fill out the registration form (camp registration now closed<\/strong>). Camp attendees are expected to also attend the workshop on Monday, May 23. You will be asked for the following information:<\/p>\n

  1. Your resume<\/strong>, including your name and gender, and if a student, current year in your degree path and when the degree is expected;<\/li>\n
  2. A brief description<\/strong> on why you are interested in attending the camp, your areas of interest for GENI experiments, and if applicable, your experience with GENI;<\/li>\n
  3. For student applicants, a support letter<\/strong> from your advisor to confirm the expected benefits to the applicant;<\/li>\n
  4. An estimate of travel cost<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Preference will be given to applicants who will continue to use GENI resources for research and education after the camp, and who will submit their results to the next\u00a0Network Innovators Community Event (GENI NICE) or the next International Workshop on Computer and Networking Experimental Research Using Testbeds (CNERT) – see CNERT 2016<\/a> and NICE 2015<\/a>.<\/p>\n
