A sustainability plan describes the goals and plans for continuation of the program in its current or modified state. When visioning sustainability, you will want to consider the extent to which Gabby can be a) delivered over time, b) integrated into routine practice, and c) maintained through capacity building.<\/p>\n<p><span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h5 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Questions to Consider: Staff Responsibilities<\/h5><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Before <span>implementing Gabby, the site champion might want to have discussions with site staff to determine what implementation will look like in the short, intermediate, and long term. Thoughtful and visioning discussions may consider questions such as:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Will the implementation of the Gabby System be a site-wide or targeted effort?<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Will the site champion be the sole individual responsible for implementation or will implementation include several staff members?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Who do you see involved in this effort? Who are the stakeholders from within the site and who would partner with the site that would be involved?<\/li>\n<li>Do you foresee challenges engaging community-based organizations or other partners in this process?<\/li>\n<li>What do you hope to accomplish throughout this process?<\/li>\n<li>Briefly discuss and review the process for achieving these goals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h5 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Questions to Consider: Staffing<\/h5><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Discussions about staff considerations are integral to sustainability goal development and planning. Staffing guiding questions might include<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><\/span>What level of site staff is required for the program and what are their roles? [Administrative, leadership, frontline, etc.]<span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>What <span>is the staffing structure? [FTEs, on-call, 24-hour coverage, evening coverage, weekend coverage, etc.]<\/span><span><\/span><span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>\u00a0Are\u00a0<\/span>the staff already in place, or will they need to be hired?<span><\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span><\/span>If\u00a0t<span>ransitioning existing staff, need to determine how this can be done- will it be necessary to reclassify staff into new positions, or do existing job descriptions work?<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span><\/span><span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span> <\/span>If transitioning<span>\u00a0existing staff, how different is the new program from their current work? May need to do additional work to ensure the transition goes smoothly and workers are on <\/span><span>board with, as well as part of the changes.<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span><\/span><span><\/span><\/li>\n<li>If staff is to be hired, job descriptions will need to be created.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Visioning short, intermediate, and long program outcomes before implementation will allow you to monitor and evaluate the program (see Module 5) and to make the necessary adjustments to guide your long-term plans. For example, based on the outcome data derived from implementing the Gabby system, you may need to adjust your sustainability plan to meet the needs identified by clients, staff and partners, funding climate, and site priorities. These adjustments may require that you work on adjusting\/ regenerating the Gabby System to be relative to the program\/ site\/ clients and fit the needs of your population. <strong>Collectively determining what sustainability means to you as a site, developing priorities, and a plan will ensure sustainability of the program in its current or modified state.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Key <\/strong><strong>Takeaways:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Sustainability and regeneration are part of a visioning process that should start before implementation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Feedback from clients, stakeholders, and staff informs sustainability and is necessary <\/span><span>to prioritize goals and establish consensus about long-term plans for the Gabby System. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Purpose of this Module: The purpose of this module is to help you plan for sustainability of the Gabby System by using a sustainability plan.
