{"id":695,"date":"2026-06-21T21:48:02","date_gmt":"2026-06-22T01:48:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/future-readiness\/?page_id=695"},"modified":"2026-06-21T21:48:02","modified_gmt":"2026-06-22T01:48:02","slug":"sustainability-pathways-initiative","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/future-readiness\/sustainability-pathways-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"Sustainability Pathways Initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Redesigning Higher Education to Develop Student Talent, Skills, and Interest Needed for Pursuing Sustainable Career Pathways<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Boston University Wheelock Center for Future Readiness, in collaboration with BU Sustainability, is launching a university-wide initiative to better prepare students to pursue careers that contribute to thriving communities, resilient economies, healthy populations, and a sustainable planet.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is grounded in a simple observation: today&#8217;s students are seeking careers that offer both purpose and opportunity. They want meaningful work that aligns with their interests, values, and strengths while also providing pathways to economic mobility and long-term career success. This initiative will help <span>our <\/span><span>undergraduate and graduate <\/span>students understand how the university academic, research, and extracurricular experiences, internships, leadership activities, and professional networks connect to future <span>sustainability-related <\/span>career pathways.<\/p>\n<p>Our effort builds on Boston University Center for Career Development\u2019s new <em>&#8220;Every Student Receives&#8221; <\/em>career development framework (Explore \u2192 Build \u2192 Launch), which envisions career development as a university-wide ecosystem rather than an optional service.
