Jessica Wu

Jessica Wu headshotJessica is a Psychology and Sociology major on the pre-law track with minors in Deaf Studies and Urban Studies at Boston University. She is passionate about pursuing criminal justice law with the hope of influencing a chain reaction within the justice system and truncating the effects of generational incarceration. Outside of her work with Dr. Medina, she serves as the President of Boston University’s Deaf Studies Club and the President of CAS Dean’s Hosts which is responsible for planning and hosting the annual Admitted Terrier Days for admitted students.

Her research interests include the effects that incarceration and homelessness have on family relationships and community ties, and how these effects are stratified by race and ethnicity. She is interested in pursuing a JD and a PhD in sociology and criminal justice. In her free time, she enjoys visiting all the museums around Boston and learning more about beekeeping.
