Fairer Partnerships in Global Health

Welcome!

We are a group of faculty and staff members from the Department of Global Health at BUSPH working towards fairer partnerships in global health. Our work is in alignment with and support of ongoing efforts by colleagues across the world to decolonize global health.

Overarching goal: To be good collaborators across BUSPH activities – Research (Think.), Teaching (Teach.), Practice (Do.) – acknowledging power asymmetries that exist, including the legacies of colonialism that shape the context of global health work.

Specific objectives for the working group:

  • To collaboratively develop recommendations for the Department of Global Health and the BUSPH community that can guide self-study to reflect on power asymmetries in Global Health and practices to promote fairer partnerships in Think. Teach. Do.;
  • To provide a starting point for conversations within the Department and within the wider School community about those practices;
  • To motivate beneficial changes towards power symmetries in our research, teaching, and practice.
