Programs in the <em>Access Observatory<\/em> focus on more than just medicines, and include strategies to strengthen health systems and influence patient behaviors. The <em>Access Observatory<\/em> was created within the scope of Access Accelerated, a collaboration of several large biopharmaceutical companies, in partnership with the World Bank and the Union of International Cancer Control, that aims to advance access to prevention and treatment for non-communicable diseases globally. \u00a0Program information available through the <em>Access Observatory<\/em> is authored by program teams and independently reviewed by the <em>Access Observatory<\/em> team to ensure completeness, clarity, and consistency. The <em>Access Observatory<\/em> is a reporting mechanism for Access Accelerated, and is also open to all access programs, including those designed and implemented by public and non-profit organizations. The <em>Access Observatory<\/em> has been designed by and is managed by a team based in the Department of Global Health at the Boston University School of Public Health.
