Sally Landon Tepper

Sally Tepper is a first-year PhD student in the Chemistry Department at Boston University, where she conducts research in Joseph Derosa’s lab. Her current project focuses on developing electrocatalytic carbonyl reduction processes using earth-abundant transition metals.

Sally earned her undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University, where she conducted research on aggregation-induced emitters in Brian Northrop’s lab. Before starting graduate school at BU, she spent three years in the process chemistry automation lab at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where she developed an appreciation for the role of data science and machine learning in uncovering key mechanistic insights.

In her free time, Sally enjoys reading, crocheting, and listening to Taylor Swift.
