Rebecca Gracia
Rebecca received her B.S. in Chemistry from Stonehill College in Easton, MA, where she conducted undergraduate research under the mentorship of Dr. Leon Tilley. She is now a graduate student at BU working with Dr. Minjung Son, focusing on the photophysical pathways in light-harvesting (LH) systems. Her current research investigates energy transfer mechanisms in photosynthetic light-harvesting molecules incorporated into polariton microcavities, using ultrafast spectroscopy techniques. Polaritons, hybrid light-matter entities, offer the potential to modify and optimize energy flow in these systems. This work has important implications for renewable energy conversion, particularly in solar-to-fuel technologies and the enhancement of crop yield through optimized energy transfer. She aspires to contribute to the development of sustainable technologies through a career in photophysical research.
