Lucas Clemens

Lucas Clemens is a first-year theoretical chemistry PhD student in the Coker Lab. He received his B.S. in Chemistry with Honors from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL, where Clemens worked with Dr. Jason Montgomery on their thesis “A Computational Study of the Metal-Organic Framework OFUYUL as a Drug Delivery Vessel for Ibuprofen.” Working with the Bravaya group, Lucas completed an REU at BU in the summer of 2023 studying the effect of protonation states on simulations of redox potentials in hemes. His current research interests include studying charge transfer dynamics in organic systems and excited state photochemical dynamics. In his free time, he enjoys crocheting, hiking, going to concerts, and playing the tuba!
