Elyssa Penson
Elyssa Penson is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering working in the Computational Energy Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Emily Ryan. Her research uses computational modeling to study instability at the electrode–electrolyte interface during electrodeposition, with the goal of understanding the factors that contribute to dendrite growth in lithium metal batteries. She is collaborating with Dr. Sharon’s group at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem to compare computational and experimental results for silver dendrite growth under similar operating conditions. Before attending Boston University, Elyssa received her B.S. in mechanical engineering from Bucknell University.
