Glick"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am a Professor in the Department of Political Science at Boston University.\u00a0 I am currently a Fellow with the Office of Evaluation Sciences in the General Services Administration\u00a0 where I do applied policy work, and one of the Principal Investigators on the annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveyofmayors.com\/\">Menino Survey of Mayors<\/a>. My research focused on political institutions &#8211; especially courts, public opinion about institutions, local politics and policy, policy diffusion, and law. I teach undergraduate courses about law (Constitutional Law, Civil Liberties, Judicial Politics), and local government. My local government courses includea project based local policy lab course and a co-taught class about all of the politics, policy, and social science in HBO&#8217;s <em>the Wire (<\/em>named &#8220;coolest class to take at BU&#8221; by Boston.com)<em>\u00a0<\/em>.\u00a0 I was also the Founding Faculty Director of a program called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ioc\/metrobridge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MetroBridge<\/a>\u00a0that pairs BU courses across levels and disciplines with local governments to bring real, applied, policy relevant research into BU classrooms. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">You can view my CV\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/s\/vt29jzq7j3td2ij\/Glick_CV%20Updated.pdf?dl=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" style=\"color: #ff0000;\">here<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 1.17em;\"><a href=\"\/dmglick\/files\/2014\/01\/Picture1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/dmglick\/files\/2014\/01\/Picture1.png\" alt=\"Picture1\" width=\"254\" height=\"296\" class=\"wp-image-10 alignright\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Much of my most recent work focuses on urban politics and policy, especially\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politicsofhousing.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">housing<\/a> and development, with my colleagues Katherine Einstein and Maxwell Palmer. This work includes our book, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/core\/books\/neighborhood-defenders\/0677F4F75667B490CBC7A98396DD527A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Neighborhood Defenders: Participatory Politics and America&#8217;s Housing Crisis<\/a><\/em>, (Cambridge University Press, 2019).<\/p>\n<p>More generally, my research has appeared in journals such as <em>Nature<\/em>, <em>PNAS, <\/em>the <em>American Journal of Political Science<\/em>, the <em>Journal of Politics<\/em>, the <em>British Journal of Political Science<\/em>, the <em>Quarterly Journal of Political Science<\/em>, the <em>Journal of Law, Economics and Organization<\/em>, <em>Perspectives on Politics<\/em>,\u00a0\u00a0<em>Political Behavior<\/em>, <em>Public Opinion Quarterly, <\/em>and<em> the Urban Affairs Review.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I grew up near Boston and now live in Rhode Island with my wife and three young children. Before graduate school at Princeton I was an undergraduate at Williams College and worked in Cambridge for two years as a strategy consultant with the Monitor Group. I also spent two years as a fellow at the Rockefeller Center for Public Policy at Dartmouth.
