Images

File>Place>Select Image>Drag to frame [( ) appear around image when it is w/in frame]

Click icon for “fill frame proportionally”

Click and drag edge of frame to move

Direct Selection tool (white arrow) to move image around w/in frame

Selection tool (black arrow) to move border and crop image

Formatting Text (be sure type tool is selected before manipulating text)

Drop cap= CMD + Option + R

CMD + Shift+ <= enlarge text

CMD + Shift + >= shrink text

CMD + A= Select All

CMD + Shift+ C= center text within frame

Option/ Left or Right Arrow to move letters closer together/further apart

“W” =switch between preview and working view (don’t try to edit in the W view)

“CMD” + “Z” =undo

“CMD” + Click= Move/Drag

“CMD” + “X”= delete selected object

 

Remember

All text and images are placed in Frames

You can create a frame with the type tool or the shape tools (usually rectangle)

When you want to change words, make sure you’ve selected the type tool “T”

When you want to move and alter frames, make sure you’ve selected the Selection Tool (Black Arrow)
