She received her MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed a dermatology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital followed by a fellowship in dermatopathology at Brigham and Women\u2019s Hospital. \u00a0Allison is the course director for the Dermatology Module of the Disease and Therapeutics course in the second year of the medical student curriculum. \u00a0She also leads skin cancer prevention seminars in Introduction to Clinical Medicine II and is an active lecturer for our dermatology residents. \u00a0In clinic, Allison teaches both residents and medical students. \u00a0The 2015 BUMC Dermatology Residency Program Teacher of the Year, Allison\u00a0is a field-specific advisor for students applying to dermatology residency and part of the dermatology resident selection committee.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/dermatologynews\/files\/2017\/05\/Vashi-N-2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Vashi-N-2\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-50\" \/>Neelam A.<\/strong> <strong>Vashi,\u00a0MD<\/strong> was awarded the\u00a0Presidential Citation Award\u00a0by the\u00a0American Academy of Dermatology. \u00a0This award is given to individuals who have made significant contributions to both the Academy and specialty of dermatology with recognition at the 2017 Stars of the Academy Recognition Ceremony, President\u2019s Gala, and Annual Business Meeting. \u00a0Additionally, Dr. Vashi has had a prolific year publishing many articles and textbook chapters about pigmentary disorders, body dysmorphic disorder, and procedural dermatology.\u00a0 Dr. Vashi was also awarded the Leaders In Giving Award, in appreciation for her generous and consistent support of the American Academy of Dermatology\u2019s philanthropic programs and services over the past 5 years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/dermatologynews\/files\/2017\/05\/Botchkarev-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Botchkarev\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-52\" \/>Vladimir Botchkarev,\u00a0MD, PhD,<\/strong> has been elected into the Scientific Program Committee of the Society for Investigative Dermatology for a five-year term (2017-2022). \u00a0In addition, he will continue to serve as an editorial consultant to the Journal of Investigative Dermatology for the next term.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/dermatologynews\/files\/2017\/05\/FalangaAward-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"FalangaAward\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-53\" \/>Vincent Falanga, MD <\/strong>was awarded the\u00a02017 Boswick Lifetime Achievement Award\u00a0at the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care\u00a0in San Diego, CA.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Allison Larson, MD, has been appointed\u00a0Assistant Dean in the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA). \u00a0Dr. Larson is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology.
