Jacob Herrmann received a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from University of Iowa in 2018, mentored by David W. Kaczka. His thesis work focused on respiratory mechanics and ventilation heterogeneity in acute lung injury, in particular using computational simulation and medical imaging techniques. Jacob is currently a post-doctoral fellow at Boston University, mentored by Béla Suki. His current research interests include multi-scale modeling of the respiratory system, with emphasis on the structure-function relationships and complex interactions of cells and their micro-environments.
