\u2728We are excited to share that our PI, Dr. Kim Crespo, and our postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Kaityn Contino, are recipients of the ASHFoundation 2025 New Investigators Research Grant. \u2728<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Crespo\u2019s project will explore how sleep quantity and quality predicts children\u2019s statistical word learning and retention across children with varying language abilities, including those with Developmental Language Disorder. Her work aims to characterize relationships between sleep, learning, and language development. \ud83d\udcda\ud83d\udca4<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Contino\u2019s project will explore how motor planning \u2014 the way toddlers coordinate and control actions during everyday tasks \u2014 may serve as an early marker for the development of executive function and language skills. This research aims to shed light on the cascading effects of motor development on cognitive and language outcomes during a critical period of early childhood. \ud83e\uddf8\ud83d\udc76\ud83c\udffd<\/span><\/p>\n
