The lab is directed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sargent\/profile\/kimberly-crespo-phd-ccc-slp\/\">Kimberly Crespo, PhD, CCC-SLP<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span>Our research focuses on understanding how individual differences in bilingual experience, language ability and cognition interact to shape language learning and development. <\/span><\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>We investigate questions such as:<\/strong><\/h6>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><i>How do children and adults learn language?\u00a0<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>How does bilingual experience influence learning?<\/i><\/li>\n<li><em>How does memory and attention support language learning?<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>In what ways can we structure language input to facilitate learning in children with language disorders?\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Our goals are to:<\/strong><\/h6>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>Better understand the mechanisms underlying language learning<\/li>\n<li>Develop more inclusive models of language and cognitive\u00a0development<\/li>\n<li>Improve educational strategies and clinical outcomes for children with language disorders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">You can also contribute to our science by <span>volunteering in the lab, bilingual Spanish speakers encouraged!
