Boston University Children’s Center
The BU Children’s Center offers high-quality early childhood education and care for the children of BU’s faculty, staff, and graduate staff. Their website provides an outline of their services, resources for families, parental education, childcare referral services, information for back-up care, and more.
Breastfeeding: The Boston Baby Cafés
The Boston Baby Cafés are free walk-in sessions offering breastfeeding support from trained lactation professionals and information for new and soon-to-be mothers in the community. Virtual support groups are also available through this service.
The Tuition Remission Program grants regular full-time employees—and their families—access to a wide range of BU courses and degree programs. Eligible employees are entitled to 100% Tuition Remission for the first four credit hours and 90% Tuition Remission for the next four credit hours of courses taken each semester.

OD&L offers a wide range of professional development opportunities for all stages of your career, including Terrier eDevelopment, a web-based e-learning platform with videos, audiobooks, virtual workshops, and more. OD&L is a great resource for learning anything from a specific software to understanding broad topics like time management.
Read&Write GOLD is a literacy software that helps make documents, files, and websites more accessible on any platform or device. This tool is for people with dyslexia and other learning difficulties, anyone whose first language isn’t English, or for people that want to augment their writing skills.

The Queer Activist Collective (Q) hosts resources and programming to support and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community at BU, including mental and sexual health workshops, maintaining the BU Out List, faculty and staff panels, legal workshops, game nights, allyship workshops, charity drag shows, as well as initiatives like the Gender-Affirming Product Program and advocacy for accessible housing for TGNCI students.

Reasonable Accommodations Individuals with Disabilities, Pregnancy, or Pregnancy-Related Conditions

Reporting, Emergency, and Safety Resources
Boston University Police Department (BUPD)
Besides patrolling our campuses 24/7, BUPD offers, Scarlet Safe Walk escort services, free self-defense classes, and maintains emergency call box locations, to enhance campus safety. Users can access resources, including crime statistics, contact information, and safety awareness initiatives, to ensure a secure environment while on campus.
Ombuds provides confidential, independent, and impartial support for faculty and staff, offering informal problem-solving resources. They focus on fairness, communications, and conflict management, serving as a valuable resource for addressing issues and providing helpful tips and resources for effective communication and conflict resolution.
