Airport to BU
Getting from Logan Airport to BU CDS
Boston Logan International Airport is the closest airport to Boston University (15min driving without traffic, 50min by public transit). The most common options are public transit ($2.50), taxi, Uber, or Lyft ($30-60). We do not recommend renting a car in Boston unless you plan to leave the city. All meeting events are centrally located.

Recommended Public Transit Route
- From any Logan terminal, take the Silver Line SL1 to South Station.
- At South Station, take the Red Line toward Alewife to Park Street.
- At Park Street, transfer to the Green Line B toward Boston College.
- Exit at BU East or Blandford St.
- Walk a few minutes to CDS at 665 Commonwealth Ave.
Alternative Blue Line Route
- Take the free airport shuttle from your terminal to Airport Station.
- Take the Blue Line inbound to Government Center.
- Transfer to the Green Line B toward Boston College.
- Exit at BU East or Blandford St.
Taxi, Uber, or Lyft
Use Center for Computing & Data Sciences, 665 Commonwealth Ave as the destination. Travel time can vary substantially with airport and Boston traffic.
Getting Around
Transit, Walking, and Bluebikes
Boston University is well connected by public transit, walking routes, ride share, and Bluebikes. For most trips during the meeting, the Green Line B branch will be the simplest option.
MBTA Green Line
Use the Green Line B branch for Boston University. The closest stops to CDS are BU East and Blandford St.
Tap to Pay
You do not need to buy a transit card. Riders can tap to pay with a contactless credit card, debit card, phone, or watch at subway fare gates and on Green Line trolleys.
Bluebikes
Bluebikes is Boston’s bike share system, with stations around Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, and nearby communities. Visitors can buy a single trip or day pass through the Bluebikes app or website.

- Enter 1 Silber Way through the main entrance.
- Check in with the attendant or event staff in the lobby.
- You must be let up the elevator by an attendant.
- After being let up, follow event signs or staff directions to the welcome drinks room.

From the Center for Computing & Data Sciences at 665 Commonwealth Ave, 1 Silber Way is a short walk east along Commonwealth Ave.

Green Line plus Walking
- From CDS, walk to BU East Green Line B stop.
- Take the Green Line B inbound toward downtown.
- Exit at Arlington station.
- Walk through Boston Common 15 minutes to The Liberty Hotel at 215 Charles Street.
