Yakeel Quiroz, Ph.D.

My research seeks to understand pre-symptomatic and preclinical functional and structural changes in the brains of individuals who carry a mutation in the Presenilin-1 and thus are going to develop early-onset familial Alzheimer’s disease. This research has the potential to identify early biomarkers of the disease and offers a unique opportunity to study the progression of Alzheimer’s decades before the onset of any symptoms.
