Kirsten Austad and Nick Bosch will transition from Associate Directors\u00a0<span data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"markfb2n1eh6j\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">to<\/span>\u00a0Co-Directors of The Evans Center for Implementation and Improvement Science (CIIS), effective October 1, 2024. Dr. Kathryn Fantasia will serve in the new role of Education Director and current Research Specialist Kayla Jones will transition\u00a0<span data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"markfb2n1eh6j\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">to<\/span>\u00a0Assistant Director. Dr. Mari-Lynn Drainoni, who has been a founding Director of CIIS for nine years, will assume the new CIIS role of Research Director, allowing her\u00a0<span data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"markfb2n1eh6j\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">to<\/span>\u00a0mentor the growing number of early career faculty in CIIS.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>The Department of Medicine would like\u00a0<span data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"markfb2n1eh6j\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">to<\/span>\u00a0thank Dr. Drainoni for her mentorship, vision, and exceptional research productivity. As the inaugural Director of CIIS, Dr. Drainoni has been instrumental in the expansion of CIIS from a small three-member team\u00a0<span data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"markfb2n1eh6j\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">to<\/span>\u00a0a nationally recognized center focused on implementation science in safety net settings. During her tenure as Director, she has served as an outstanding mentor , including nine CIIS fellows with a 100% success rate thus far in receipt of NIH K- or similar career development awards. Drainoni has participated in or overseen the publication of over 150 CIIS original research manuscripts on including seminal research on\u00a0<span data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"markfb2n1eh6j\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">to<\/span>pics ranging from antibiotic stewardship\u00a0<span data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"markfb2n1eh6j\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">to<\/span>\u00a0naloxone distribution in the safety net setting.
