Updates from the October Meeting

Thank you to everyone that attended Chemia’s October Meeting!! We’re really glad that we got such a good turn out at this meeting and would like to thank you all for coming, with especial thanks to Dr. Deborah Perlstein for her research presentation and to Dr. John Snyder for explaining the process for getting involved in research as an undergrad.

For anybody that couldn’t make it, here’s what you missed:

  • The Merck trip will be on Friday, December 2. See the tab above for more information.
  • How to go about joining a research group. The process is pretty easy–look up the different research projects at the Chemistry Research Website, see what you like best, and then contact a professor and ask to join their research group! The rest is paperwork that your new research advisor will be able to assist you with. For more information, feel free to contact Ben, Josh, Susie, or Ivan.

October Meeting

There will be a Chemia meeting on Monday, October 24th from 6-7 pm in SCI 294. At this meeting, Deborah Perlstein and Xin Chen will be present to discuss the research that they have been doing here at Boston University. With this, you can find out how to become involved in research as an undergraduate here at BU. Be sure to come, as there will be refreshments and interesting presentations! Also, we hope to further discuss our trip to Merck this fall at this meeting, so be sure to come if you want to find out more information!

Also, tutoring will begin at 7pm and will go on at least until 8pm. The Tuesday schedule will not be affected in any way by this.

Welcome to Chemistry at Boston University!

We, the officers of Chemia, would like to offer a warm welcome to freshmen and we hope your first chemistry experience at BU has been treating you well! And sophmores: welcome back to another year in chemistry!
