Regina Nie is an epidemiology research assistant and biostatistical data analyst at Boston Medical Center, and a Maternal and Child Health Research Fellow at Boston University, Clinical Department, School of Social Work. Regina’s research focuses on chronic kidney disease among disadvantaged populations, and trauma such as racism-related child mental health among families from different cultures. Regina uses combined quantitative skills including SAS and R studio for data analysis, and qualitative approaches such as focus groups, translation, and literature reviews in her work. Regina is currently finishing her last semester as a Master of Public Health student at Boston University in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Pharmaceutical Development. She had completed her undergraduate studies in Pharmacology and Finance at the University of Sydney. She has worked as a research assistant in diabetic cardiac fibrosis and medicines in China, and a pharmacology and quantitative research analyst in Australia. Regina also had nearly 3 years of experience teaching more than 200 undergraduate students, and 3 years of experience in asset management and financial accounting.
