Ja-Hon Wang

Ja-Hon is a Master’s student at Harvard University in the Education Policy and Analysis EdM program. His experiences growing up as a son of immigrants with the support of empowering mentors has grounded him in a commitment to uplifting immigrant young people and building systems of loving adults around them. He strives to help his students, as well as the adults that support them, build confidence, experience healing, and develop healthy relationships with their mental health through a mix of psychoeducation, social justice education, and therapeutic practices. He is completing practical training at the Boston International Newcomers Academy where he teaches immigrant adolescents about individual and structural factors contributing to health outcomes, as well as at Next Wave/Full Circle Schools in Somerville where he leads a youth participatory action research (YPAR) project on peer interactions and belonging at school. Ja-Hon was most recently the Admissions and Data Specialist at Boston University’s Center for English Language and Orientation Programs (CELOP), where he coordinated the admissions, pre-arrival, and advising of international English Learners. He holds his BA in Sociology at Boston University.
