Erin Sun (she/hers) is a MSW Candidate at Boston College with a specialization in Children, Youth, and Families. Prior to pursuing her Clinical degree, she worked as a teacher and a mediator for the API community in Los Angeles. There, she aided schools in developing Restorative Justice models for resolving cross-cultural disputes and facilitated intergenerational communication with Chinese immigrant families. Erin is passionate about bridging differences between immigrant families and their “third culture” children, and has done research on the formation of Chinese ethnic enclaves in the US. Currently, Erin is also working at Boston CASA where she helps find safe and permanent placements for court-involved youths. In the future, she hopes to use her Chinese American heritage to reach immigrant communities and create better access to mental health resources with psychosocial and social justice education
