Desi Hartman
Desiree (Desi) Hartman is a MSW candidate at the BU School of Social Work. She is passionate about contributing to research, policy change, and becoming a skilled clinical social worker that provides trauma-informed and culturally sensitive mental health support to children and families of color who are impacted by immigration. Desi currently works at the Vital Village Networks at Boston Medical Center on community-based projects related to early childhood and mental health. Additionally, her experience ranges across global health learning internships in Kenya and Ecuador, psychology field research in the Philippines, support groups for immigrants who are in ICE detention centers, and child rights advocacy with UNICEF USA. Desi graduated from Colorado College with a B.A. in Psychology and Global Health.
