KATHLEEN MALLEY-MORRISON is Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences in the Developmental Science Program, Boston University. She is lead author (with Denise A. Hines) of Family Violence in a Cultural Perspective(Sage, 2004), co-author of Family Violence in the United States: Defining, Understanding, and Combating Abuse(Sage, 2005), and editor of International Perspectives on Family Violence and Abuse (Erlbaum, 2004). She also assembled and edited a four volume series on State Violence and the Right toPeace, the International Handbook of War, Torture, and Terrorism  (with Hines and McCarthy), and the International Handbook of Peace and Reconciliation (with Mercurio and Twose). Doctoral Student

Fang Hong

Fang is a fourth-year doctoral student in the Developmental Science Program, Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, Boston University. She is from China. Prior to joining BU, she got her B.A. from Northeast Normal University in 2010 and M.A. from New York University in 2012. Her interests lie within childhood experience, emotion regulation, and emotion development in various contexts. The study she is focused on looks at how childhood maltreatment affects stress psychophysiology, such as respiratory sinus arrhythmia and skin conductance, during social interactions. Besides, she is also interested in how culture can exert an influence on emotion recognition.

Stephanie is a junior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She recently joined the CEACS Lab in the fall as a research assistant. Her interests lie in developmental psychology, and she plans on continuing her education at a graduate level for Child Psychology.

Denise is a senior on the pre-medical track majoring in Psychology and minoring in Biology. She is interested in developmental psychology as well as abnormal psychology. Outside of the lab, she works as an EMT, and volunteers at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

In my free time, I love volunteering, particularly with  elderly and immigrants, though my favourite volunteering experience is reading children’s books for children in hospital.
