Pittman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am an NSF Graduate Research Fellow working with Prof. Catherine C. Espaillat to study disks of gas and dust, called protoplanetary disks, around young stars. I apply models to multi-wavelength data to connect magnetospheric accretion to a broad range of interdisciplinary topics, including: formation pathways for ultra-short-period planets; high energy irradiation of the disk; angular momentum regulation; the star-disk connection; and the star-cloud connection. My work bridges the gap between observation and theory and provides observation-informed model constraints.<span aria-label=\"\u00a0\" class=\"c-mrkdwn__br\" data-stringify-type=\"paragraph-break\"><\/span>I received my BA from William Jewell College, double-majoring in Physics and English. Before coming to Boston University, I performed research at William Jewell College, the Maria Mitchell Association, the University of Oxford, and CERN.
