Please follow the directions below to get started. <strong>We encourage you to register as soon as possible, as classes may fill up quickly.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here are a few reminders:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Course registration is an ongoing process<\/strong> &#8211; once you&#8217;ve selected classes, an advisor will review your schedule to make sure it meets your needs and goals. You may also continue to add and revise your schedule between now and the beginning of the semester.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Note<\/strong>: <span>Some courses may have reserved seats for specific student populations (e.g., majors, minors, class years, incoming transfer students, etc.). Just because a course has open seats does not guarantee you are eligible to register for it.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The traditional course load is <strong>four, 4-unit courses<\/strong> per semester. The <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/casreg\/transfer-hub-and-major-guides\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">major guides<\/a> help shape what these classes could be based on your potential major.<\/li>\n<li>The typical semester schedule looks like\n<ol>\n<li><b>Major required course<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Major required course<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b><em>or<\/em><b><span>\u00a0<\/span>Course of interest<\/b><\/li>\n<li><strong>Language course<\/strong>\u00a0<em>or<\/em>\u00a0<strong>Course of interest<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><b>Hub course<\/b><span>\u00a0<\/span>(an elective that you take for a Hub requirement)<\/li>\n<li><em>Optional add-on:<\/em><span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>HUB FY 101<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>First-Year Seminar<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Ultimately, your classes depend greatly on your external credit, major, etc.. We encourage you to work with your advisor for any questions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To register for courses:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span>Log into the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/student.bu.edu\/MyBU\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span>MyBU Student Portal<\/span><\/a><span>\u00a0using your BU username and Kerberos password. Then complete the Duo two-step verification.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Click\u00a0<\/span><i><span>My Academics<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><span>Click <\/span><i><span>Spring 2026 Registration Planning<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><span>Click\u00a0<\/span><i><span>Enrollment<\/span><\/i><span>\u00a0on the left-hand side<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Click\u00a0<\/span><i><span>Schedule Builder<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><span>Underneath the Course Selection header, select the\u00a0<em>Subject (<\/em>e.g. CASAN \u2013 Anthropology) and\u00a0<em>Catalogue Number\u00a0<\/em>(e.g. 101 \u2013 Sociocultural Anthropology) of your first desired course.\u00a0<\/span><span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Read the course description to make sure this is your desired course. If it is, click\u00a0<\/span><i><span>Add Course.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span>The course is now in your Schedule Builder and will be listed below your search.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Now it\u2019s time to pick your exact section(s) of this course. In addition to your lecture, you may also need to select a lab, discussion, and\/or pre-lab, depending on the course.<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li><span>Next to the course you just added, choose\u00a0<\/span><i><span>Select Sections<\/span><\/i><span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Click the first check box on the right in the header row. This will de-select all sections.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Manually select the section(s) you wish to add. Again, remember to select a lecture section as well as any lab, discussion, or pre-lab sections, if required.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Click\u00a0<\/span><i><span>Ok<\/span><\/i><span>, then\u00a0<\/span><i><span>Save.<\/span><\/i><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><span>To add more courses, select\u00a0<\/span><i><span>Expand Filters<\/span><\/i><span>. Then,\u00a0<\/span><i><span>Reset Filters<\/span><\/i><span>.<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li><span>Follow steps 6-8 to add other courses to your Schedule Builder.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Be sure to click\u00a0<\/span><i><span>Save.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><span>Once you\u2019ve added all potential courses and their respective sections\/components, click\u00a0<\/span><i><span>Build Schedule<\/span><\/i><span>.\u00a0<\/span><span>You will be prompted if there are issues with your courses (e.g., time conflicts). You must resolve any issues prior to building your schedule.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>You can now test potential schedules to see how your courses fit together. If you like the schedule you just built, favorite it by selecting the heart and naming it. You can then explore other potential schedules by repeating the steps above to experiment with other courses and sections. You may continue to save schedules by favoriting and naming them.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Once you have your preferred schedule, you can select favorites in the top right corner. Click\u00a0<em>view<\/em>. You will now be able to review your preferred schedule.
