Create your BU login &amp; email account <\/strong>(skip if you have already created your BU login and email)<strong>: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>This login will not only be your primary method of communication at BU, but also your login for BU portals and many resources. <\/span><b>You must activate this account before completing any of the steps below.<\/b><span> You will receive an email with instructions to set up your email account after paying your enrollment deposit. You can also find comprehensive instructions <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/cccs\/email\/google-mail\/welcome\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span>here<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Sign up for Orientation<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>Please <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/undergradorientation\/how-to-join\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sign up for Orientation<\/a> by July 1st, 2025. If you are trying to register for Orientation after the 7\/1 deadline, please email <a href=\"mailto:orientation@bu.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">orientation@bu.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Set up academic and\/or housing accommodations for qualified students with disabilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you are eligible for academic and\/or housing accommodations, you should begin working with Disability &amp; Access Services (DAS) as soon as possible. To begin:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fill out the DAS <a href=\"https:\/\/bu-accommodate.symplicity.com\/public_accommodation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New Student Intake Form<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">Submit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/disability\/current-students\/requesting-accommodations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">documentation<\/a> of your disability. You can email (<\/span><a href=\"mailto:access@bu.edu\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">access@bu.edu<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">), fax (617-353-9646), or drop off a copy in person (25 Buick Street, ste. 300, Boston, MA, 02215). <\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">DAS has gone paperless, so any physical copies will be returned to you. Please note DAS receives faxes by email<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Schedule an intake appointment with a DAS staff member by calling 617-353-3658.<\/li>\n<li>For more information, please see the DAS <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/disability\/incoming-students\/request-accommodations-new-and-incoming-students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website <\/a> and their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/disability\/current-students\/transitioning-to-college\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recommendations for those transitioning to college<\/a>.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h5 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><strong>STEP #2: Familiarize Yourself with Degree Requirements<\/strong><\/h5><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Please use the links below to further explore your Hub, CAS, and potential major requirements. Don&#8217;t worry about trying to memorize or understand every detail; we just want you to gain a general understanding.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/hub\/advising-and-the-hub\/hub-requirements-for-students\/hub-requirements-for-entering-first-year-students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>The BU Hub<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 Review the general education requirements for all BU students.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cas\/academics\/undergraduate-education\/academic-advising\/advising\/language-advising\/foreign-language-requirement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Language Requirement<\/b><\/a><span> \u2013 CAS requires all students demonstrate proficiency at or above the fourth-semester level in a language other than English. BU offers coursework in 27 different languages, so you are welcome to continue with a language you\u2019ve previously studied or start a brand new one!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/academics\/cas\/programs\/natural-sciences-laboratory-requirement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Natural Science Requirement<\/b><\/a><span> \u2013 CAS requires all students entering Fall 2025 and later to complete one natural science course with a lab component. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/academics\/cas\/programs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Major Program Requirements<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 Explore the requirements for the major(s) you are interested in. <strong>Please note: specific course registration instructions by major are provided in Step #4.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><b>A minimum of 128 academic units<\/b>\n<ul><\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Are you expecting any external credit?<\/b><span> Find out how your <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/casreg\/external-credit-automatically-awarded\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>external credit through dual enrollment and\/or examination scores<\/b><\/a><span> (e.g. Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, etc.) counts toward your degree.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h5 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><strong>STEP #3. Explore Specialized Academic Opportunities<\/strong><\/h5><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>BU offers a variety of specialized courses and academic programming.
