Students majoring in Latin American Studies will ordinarily, through coursework in the major, satisfy BU Hub requirements in Diversity, Civic Engagement, and Global Citizenship, as well as some requirements in Philosophical, Aesthetic and Historical Interpretation, Scientific and Social Inquiry, Communication, and the Intellectual Toolkit. Remaining BU Hub requirements will be satisfied by selecting from a wide range of available courses outside the major or, in some cases, cocurricular experiences.<\/em><\/p>\n

A typical first semester Latin American Studies schedule looks like:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The Latin American Studies major requires ten principal courses, which can be selected from a variety of departments and subjects. For your first class, you should pick one principal course<\/strong> that falls into one of the following categories: Historical Context,\u00a0Literary, Artistic, and Cultural Contexts, or\u00a0Contemporary Context.<\/p>\n
