Registration Guide: Linguistics & Philosophy

Students majoring in Linguistics & Philosophy will ordinarily, through coursework for the major, satisfy some of the BU Hub requirements in Philosophical, Aesthetic, and Historical Interpretation; Scientific and Social Inquiry; Quantitative Reasoning; Diversity, Civic Engagement, and Global Citizenship; the Intellectual Toolkit; and possibly Communication. 

 A typical first semester Linguistics & Philosophy schedule looks like:

  1. CAS LX 250 Introduction to Linguistics
  2. 100-level Philosophy course
  3. Language course or Course of interest
  4. Writing course
  5. Optional add-on: First-Year Seminar
