Registration Guide: Linguistics and Speech, Language & Hearing Science

Students majoring in Linguistics & Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences will ordinarily, through coursework for the major, satisfy some of the BU Hub requirements in Scientific and Social Inquiry; Quantitative Reasoning; Diversity, Civic Engagement, and Global Citizenship; and the Intellectual Toolkit.

A typical first semester Linguistics & Speech, Language, & Hearing Sciences schedule looks like:

  1. CAS LX 250 Introduction to Linguistics
  2. SAR SH 110 Introduction to Speech, Language, & Hearing Sciences or Course of interest
  3. Language course or Course of interest
  4. Writing course
  5. Optional add-on: First-Year Seminar
